I think the sew sets from both Hero Arts and Lawn Fawn make perfect Confirmation cards for girls.

Here is one made with the Lawn Fawn stamp and some classic hero arts stamps.

Simple and fun to do! The text is in Danish is created by using Jessie's ABC stamp set.

I don't think I have shared this card. A simple design really, using up some scraps of paper and some simple stamping. The die cut border is made with this MFT die.

I love how they cut a 6" border - easy to use on cards!

This card was also sent to the Danish soldier abroad (OSH)...

Hi there!

Just a very quick post today showing a card made with one of my favourite stamp sets from BG/Hero Arts the Butterflies & Wildflowers . I love those flowers!! Here I have stamped the image on watercolor paper misting with water to blend the 3 distress ink colors (victorian velvet, peeled paint & walnut stain).

I find it very hard to make many cards of the exact same design and colors - somehow it bores me. So I wanted to make some variations to the design I made here .... still prefer the stars card, though ;)

The design is very good for using up some scraps and it is fun to match the patterns, huh?

Newspaper Skyline

I really really like the Newspaper Skyline - infact all the newspaper stamps are yummy ;))

I am not sure if I like the finished look of this card though - the clouds are sort of covering up an inking mistake ;( - I can't seem to ignore that - do you know the feeling??

The next card is more "me" - I really love the soft apricot shadow ink with the brown and teal. Such yummy colors!!

Speaking about colors - the NEW MIDtone shadow inks arrived today - and I can't wait to try out those new yummy colors!!

Probably the most clean & simple card I have ever made ;) Feeling inspired by the Clean & Simple Card Making Class! Lots of white space on this ;))

I inked up part of the Zig Zag stamp (wiped carefully the parts I didn't want with a baby wipe, to make a clean edge).

The debossed frame was made using two die cut pieces - which I ran through my cuttlebug with an extra sheet of paper.

I spent a great evening yesterday with some lovely girls, scrapping and making cards. I managed to make 4,5 cards - in between all the talking ;)) Woo hooooo!

Here is one of the cards using the leaf & flower background stamp and an already stamped piece from the scrap pile. Finished it up with some nice lace ribbon and a button and voila - another card for OSH ;)

Reorganizing scraps - AGAIN ;))

Okay I think it is well known amongst scrappers that we have too much stuff, huh? I myself find it very hard to throw away stuff... ;))

But last weekend when I was making cards with a friend I realized that I've filled almost 4 drawers of paper scraps and it was very very messy and I just couldn't find anything anymore ;))

I spent a few evenings purging a lot and the rest of it I cut into 6 x 6" and sorted by colors. I did save some of my fav scraps (in the plastic bags sorted by colors).

In the drawers I also found some kraft & Hero Hues layering papers all ready to fold and score to A2 sized card bases. Here is a before & after shot!

And here is a card I made using some of the scraps from the plastic bags ;)) I just love that color at the moment !!

Happy New Year everyone!

Today, I made cards for the first time this year ;) A friend came over and together we made some cards for the Danish OWH called OSH.

Here is one of the cards, using an already stamped background of Life of the Party Dots and the new set "All the Time" which is so perfect for OSH/OWH cards with its wonderful sayings.

Christmas decor from my home

I saw this kind of x-mas tree on Pinterest made of old textpaper and I just had to try it out. Mine turned out a bit different in shape and size. I didn't have a pair of zig zag scissors - so I made a quick shortcut and die cut the textpapers using a scalloped square nestabilities. I was able to cut many many layers at a time - so it was really quick!!

I punched the star using a Fiskars star punch and covered it with glitter as well as the edges of the tree.
I poked the wooden skewer into a tea light in order to lift the tree a bit... It worked out quite well.

And it ended up in the window sill together with the JUL (Danish for Xmas) letters which I bought in NYC a couple of years ago.

I also wanted to share with you the simple Xmas decor in my kitchen - I used the same branch from Halloween (red berries) and just added some x-mas mugs, red glass, a silver tree and a wreath of red berries (one of my favorite Xmas decor from Marks & Spencers in London). The star hanging on my porch is from this year's trip to Berlin ( it has been on my wishlist for quite some time and I found it in a department store in Berlin - yay!). It is a German product called Herrnhuter Sterne and it is perfect for the outdoor. It really had a bad start here during the two recent storms - they were ripped off their installation - but luckily without further damage.

Not very Xmassy - I shared this on FB, too! I made some new cat residents for Fiona & Harry Potter's eating place - Silhouette Shapes (hero arts black cat) - out of vinyl!
I just love this snapshot, where Harry Potter is checking them out for the first time!

I hope you are all getting into the Xmas spirit! I have not finalized my Xmas shopping yet ;)

Giftwrapping

Just sharing a giftwrap I did yesterday for a friend. I love kraft paper bags - so easy to decorate and it goes with everything! I punched a MS heart in the middle for some extra interest and I used a smaller similar MS punch for the mini butterflies, punched in lovely Webster's Pages paper.

The little sentiment is from a Cosmo Cricket Tiny Text sticker sheet.

The manilla tag i stamped - using the fab special edition distress ink "evergreen bough" - love that color!

I love red christmas and I thought it would be fun to make the tree from the Critters in the Forest look more christmassy by stamping some musical notes from the Pa rum Pa Pum Pum set. Both were white embossed and colored with distress ink & an ink applicator tool.

The white panel was stamped using 4 different christmas/winter sayings from various Lawn Fawn sets. I used small snowflakes to create a background.

The digi image from Clear Dollar Stamp I used is called Autumn Critters and the owl is so cute. I resized the owl in Photoshop and removed the leaves on one of the images and pieced 3 owls together to fit one branch.

I decided to use one color for each owl on my inspirational card here. Just to make something different I colored only the feather part of the owl and used black enamel for the eyes.

Yesterday at Lily Pad Cards there was a new fun challenge - all about textures!

Textures are fun and anything goes - really! I used some core'dinations paper which I embossed for my first card and some tulle to create some extra texture.

I was inspired by the look & feel of this image from Pinterest.

Supplies:

Other: Sizzix embossing folder, twine, tulle, Ranger sanding block

Paper: coredinations cs, textpaper, kraft cs

For my 2nd card I used some wine cork on which I stamped hearts and applied to this CAS design.

The cork makes a fun texture I think ;) I can see this be used for many designs also as embellishments on scrapbook pages.

Color Challenge

The new color challenge at Lily Pad Cards is sponspored by Tiffany Doodles.

Each DT got to choose a digital stamp and I chose the Fawn Set which includes some very sweet deer images.

Kathy chose these colors for us to play with

I used the 3 colors but in a softer tone, especially for the green color, for my inspirational card here.

I first sized the sentiment and the Tiffany Doodle image as I wanted - then printed on a piece of copy paper for a guide as to where I should stamp the background. I then stamped the background on a sheet of Hero Arts Eggshell notecard and ran this through the printer again - now printing the images onto the stamped part. I printed the deer image onto white cardstock and colored this in (simple coloring) with copic markers.

(it probably wouldn't have made much of a difference stamping after printing with the soft bg - but I was not too sure about it).

I used Ranger Enamels (black for the nose and white for the dots) for some added dimension. The yellow color is represented in the pearls/gems.

Bling Bling

Bling is a new Challenge at Lily Pad Cards, up today.

Here is my card ... I am actually not really a bling person - so my card is a mixture of natural colors and a bit of bling using some Martha Stewart glitter to cover that die cut border and some silver embossing on the christmas trees.

The card base is a white embossed Classic Fabric Design distressed with antique linen at the edges towards the center leaving a bit of white space...

When I was in New York a couple of years ago I bought some glittery letters at the Tinsel Trading Company - they were sort of vintage looking and I was inspired by these when I created the border for this card - distressing the edges & adding that piece of lace behind it.

Just a quick share with one of those cards which went through a loong process and ended up entirely different than planned. I actually wanted to make a yellow card - but I had to squeeze in some kraft - you know me ;) I added some shine to that kraft, too, after stamping the background..

Today Jan & I took the day off and went to a lovely restaurant on board a ship down at the harbor.
We ordered a surprise lunch and look what we got as a starter - my favorite ... scallops!! Yummy!

Eventhough the weather was not the best - they are saying the remaing effect of the hurricane Katia will hit Denmark today ... we still enjoyed the view from the ship. Just look at that old ship sailing through the bridge!!!

This turned out very lady like with that big bow ;) Could be used for a wedding also, I guess.

The resist embossed flower is stamped twice for some added dimension in the center.

I thought the white dots on the background would be a fine match for the dots of the flower...

A few weeks ago we hosted a party at our place and for this I bought some very bright colored pennants for the porch. I actually didn't like these afterall - I had more something like these soft colored pennants in mind... So pretty! Huh??

I remembered I had some linen and I then started out on a stamping project using the Spellbinders pennants die, the linen, a beautiful butterfly stamp from Hero Arts, broken china distress ink & some twine....

I was a bit too optimistic with my time schedules and all - so my small banner ended up as decor inside on a mirror instead ;))

I now have on my future to-to list to create a banner with double pennants, stitched on the sewing machine, for future use ... One of those projects for the winter time, I guess....

And we used the very bright colored one instead.... It was festive afterall ;))

Hooked on resist lately... it is soo easy to add coloring to a stamped image. I had a couple of these flowers already embossed and inked - so one of them found a home on this simple kraft background.

The sentiment is a fave of mine from the Find Joy set.The flowers are from this wonderful set from Hero Arts.

A very popular technique

Everybody loves the wonderful technique Resist Embossing! Myself included, and I have been making af few cards lately with this wonderful technique. I love the wow effect it gives when you start adding color to the embossed images!!

Today there is a new challenge up at Lily Pad Cards challenging you to use that particular technique.

Here is my inspirational card (see my last two blog posts for more)... I chose to stamp & emboss the circles then color in with distress inks and punch out for this cluster type of card...

Some of the circles are adhered directly onto the background - others are pop dotted with some foam adhesive for a bit of dimension. I used Studio Calico/Hero Arts stamps for this card and was inspired by the Studio Calico style for my design here...

Inks: Ranger distress

Resist embossed circles. The stitching is done with a built-in feature on my sewing machine...

Just a quick share today - another resist embossed card using Lotus Leaves & Lotus Background.

Did you see, btw how Sharon from the Flickr Group used that other leaf from the set as clams ?

Now.... that is a clever use of stamps - talk about looking differently at your stamps!!
Everytime I look at that leaf now, I see a clam - haha ;)

Resist embossed vines & a lazy cat

I really like the new background stamp Vine Background from BasicGrey /Hero Arts.

Here I've used it on a card with some of my favorite colors - browns & greens - resisting the clear embossed vines on white cardstock. You can never stock too many birthdays cards, huh?

I made this for the current Hero Arts Challenge. Love that yellow bus!

I did change it up a bit using the starry pencil from the same stamp set "Brilliant". The papers are the new Indie Bloom from Basic Grey. I love the green pattern paper - perfect for a green hill!

Have you ever stamped on fabric / felt ? There is a new challenge up at Lily Pad Cards!

It is so much fun and amazing what you can create with some basic supplies. The linen I used on this card is a recycled liner for a basket which was broken - but I saved the linen to be used for sachets or .... a card!!

Frog's Whisker's Ink generously provided the team with some stamps - I chose the Post card & Honey Comb stamp & chose to use both of them on this card.

2 cards in 90 minutes - for a good cause

Saturday evening Janet hosted a 90 minutes scramble at the Hero Arts Flickr Group.

As Jan (my dh) also felt like playing (computer games) at his desk I thought it would be fun to join again.

I love the feeling of people sitting world wide stamping at the same time - working with the same theme. So much fun!! This time the theme was thank you cards for Operation Marshmellows.

I really enjoyed making cards for a good cause and also going nuts with the all american color scheme and stars! I love stars!! Here are my two cards:

Kathy's Lily Pad Palette August

The amazing queen of colors & coloring Kathy at Lily Pad Cards has come up with again a wonderful Palette of colors for the August challenge. I really love this - blues & brownies - yummy!

The Design Team members got some Whimsie Doodles images from their August Release to work with and I chose the book worm for my inspirational card.

I printed the digital image twice - once on white cardstock and then again onto some Bo Bunny Double Dot cardstock for a bit of paper piecing (btw, I resized the image to fit a bookmark size).
The white image was stamped with Hero Arts Old Letter Writing and the edges were all distressed using walnut stain ink.

Supplies: Whimsie Doodles Digital image Book Worm, Hero Arts Old Letter Writing, Hero Arts Notebook paper, Bazzill papers, Bo Bunny Double Dot Powder, Google Eyes, Ranger walnut stain distress ink.

I was inspired by Janet's (Swanlady21) lovely card here. I particularly like the white stamped panel and the ribbon running below. Such a great design which can be used in many ways.

Here is my take...

I used the lovely flower from the Hero Arts Lotus Leaves set to stamp a subtle background in white on kraft and used the same flower stamped with pool shadow ink on white cardstock. The pool panel on which I stamped the sentiment is colored in with pool shadow ink using an ink blending tool.

I really rarely use black ribbon on my cards ... but somehow this seems to work okay on this card ;)

Stamps: CL542 Lotus Leaves, CL493 Live Life.

Papers: Bazzill Kraft & coconut swirl, Bo Bunny

Inks: Memories White/Black dye ink, Hero Arts Pool Shadow ink

Other: May arts silk ribbon, Doddlebug button, twine.

Manilla tags & beautiful stamps

I use inexpensive manilla tags for many of things - but one of my favorite things is to make cute & simple stamped tags for gifts.

I love the combination of the simple tag & a beautiful stamp in a lovely color.

(just one color & second generation stamping (stamping 2nd time without reinking the stamp) to make a lighter shade)!

Here is a set I made for a quick and inexpensive hostess gift. No fuss - just stamping in lovely colors!!

The supplies list is limited:

Hero Arts CL383 Antique Butterflies, Hero Arts Delicate Leaf Clusters, Hero Arts CL519 Many Dots, Ranger distress inks (dusty concord, peeled paint & broken china)

Manilla tags

I used binding rings to hold the set together with some matching ribbon & twine.

The supplies list is limited:

Manilla tags

Wrapping it up with matching tissue paper & twine for gift wrapping & some matching flowers & homemad jam.

. . . started off with a lot of cleaning (including my VERY messy craft room). There is nothing like a fresh cleaned house and the weather outside (photo taken just a minute ago) just makes it a perfect day for stamping!

I made this for the current Hero Arts Challenge - I've always wanted to make a "just married" kind of card with that cute "VW Beetle" stamp. Who wouldn't like to go away on honeymoon in a pink car with pink flowers - haha !!

The Hero Arts layering paper is folded inside out - and I stamped the same Large Bold Line Flower on the inside to match the outside...

I also made these little stamped stones. I am in love with flat stones!!!

I hope you are having a great weekend! Jan is in the kitchen preparing some nice lobster tails for the barbeque - yummy!!

Inspired by Yesterday's Hero Arts Flickr Scramble

Have you ever participated in the Hero Arts Flickr scramble? You are challenged to make a card (or more) in 90 minutes and it is hosted by flickr members. It is really fun!!!

Unfortunately I missed it yesterday - but I was still inspired to make a few quick cards of scraps (scraplings) inspired by yesterday 's scramble hosted by Sue.

Stamps: Hero Arts E5388 Traditional Butterfly, S5216 grid pattern, LP141 Together, LF_Sophie's Sentiment.
Paper: Bazzill, MLYB
Inks: Ranger distress ink Broken China & Vintage Photo, Memories white dye ink, versamark.
Other: MFT die, twine, foam adhesive.white embossing powder,

I used the outline from the die cut as a mask to make a white background - to make the blue die cut pop!

This is quite simple - using scraps of MLYB paper and one stamp!

I have decided to reopen my personal blog...

There has been a lot going on lately putting together a Design Team for my web shop blog. Go check out the talented team which will help me inspire other cardmakers through their wonderful work. We have some great themes & ideas for the coming months...

... I wanted to use this blog for more personal stuff, showing my work when entering challenges and such without people being confused about the many authors on the other blog. This blog will be in English only.

I did take away all the old posts (frankly, I was a bit too embarassed about my early work - haha!) - but I couldn't make myself remove the sweet post about my cat Harry stealing my cards ... See previous post! (almost two years ago!)

Oh, I just caught my cat Harry stealing :) Had to show this!!
He is so interested in ribbons, twine and felt and that sort of thing.
So just now sitting at my desk I caught him stealing one of my cards! Silly cat, right? :)
